Draconic Race

The Draconic Races are a sape-like population of those descended from dragons.

They follow a strict caste-system hierarchy.

Castes (most authority to least):

  • Mind Dragon

The authority of the Mind Dragons are absolute. They may order anything of any 'lesser' race, up to and including death, for any reason including no reason. Their rule is by definition totalitarian. They do not meet with non-dragons.

  • Composite Dragon
  • Force Dragon
  • Elemental Dragon

Dragons always have absolute authority over non-dragons. Dragons in the same caste may and often do have power disputes, generally settled either by popular vote or by combat, depending on the individual.

  • Demiwyrm/Speaker

Demiwyrms, nominally, have authority exceeding that of Speakers. However, this may be disputed and in some cases, particularly those involving a powerful speaker,

  • Alwyvern

Alwyverns typically hold leadership positions in villages and are the highest rank among those with no dragon parent.

Below this line, authority is not absolute and is generally only observed as a formality. It is considered extremely rude for, say, a draigfolk to issue binding orders to a drakeling or sape.

  • Draigfolk
  • Wyrmkin
  • Drakeling

Opposite to the rest of the world, where Drakelings are treated as inferior primarily due to their small stature, in Feyndraig, Drakelings have authority over sapes.

  • Sape
  • Animal

Fae folk exist outside of this hierarchy, but always have supreme authority in their own domain.
