Common Mersian Script

Common Mersian Script is a modern phoneme-based writing system which is intended to present a way for the Vedkallen language to be written fully phonetically. It consists of 40 characters. 24 consonants, and 16 vowels.

Any phoneme which can be sustained without a fricative is considered a vowel, whereas any phoneme which may precede or succeed a vowel may be used as a consonant.

The vowels consist of these sounds: Open-mid Back Rounded Vowel (ɒ as in Rock) Full Dipthong: “aɪ” (as in Sky) Open Front Unrounded Vowel (æ as in Bat)
