Bird is the name given to the [[Sape|sapes]] which mouth-feed their young, lay eggs, have wings, and are warm-blooded.

Being native to [[Gondwana]], roughly 85% of the global population of sape birds resides somewhere in [[Gondwana]]. Of the remainder, 14.5% reside in [[Aland]], primarily due to slave captures in the [[Fourth Century]], and just 0.5% reside in [[Panarch]] or the oceans.

Birds have a uniquely high affinity for [[leyline magic]], which is how Gondwana's mages maintain the ring of storms around the continent.
